We the people: America’s 250th Celebration, Royal Oak, Michigan

Royal Oak’s event will celebrate the 250th Birthday of America, sponsored by the City of Royal Oak and the Royal Oak Historical Society. To celebrate this semiquincentennial, we will have 13 speakers read the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence, marking the 250th birthday of America. The Declaration was signed by the founding members on July 4th, then distributed across the then 13 colonies and read to the public. The final reading was on July 8th in Philadelphia as America became a nation. We are excited to celebrate this 250th birthday and will have activities for children, 250th goodies, and a big party for America. We encourage the public, families, neighbors, and friends to join us for this big celebration and to learn a little history while we celebrate our future. Come out and wish America a “Happy Birthday”.

This event is FREE, and registration is required. We would love to know whether you plan to attend. Click here to register: https://royaloakhistoricalsociety.com/programs
